Fall is one of those seasons where you can still enjoy being outside but you do not need to worry about being too hot or too cold, which makes it the perfect season for outdoor recreation.  The City of Guelph is known for its plethora of hiking and biking trails and the best part is, you do not need to travel far to feel like you are miles away from civilization. With different trail lengths to choose from, you can decide what level of activity you are up for, whether it is with the kids and the bikes, or just you and the dog; choose your own adventure! Here is a list of the most popular trails around Guelph:

 

  1. Speed River Trail (3.4 km)
    • Speedvale Avenue East to Victoria Road North via Riverside Park

 

  1. CNR Spurline Trail (1.6 km)
    • Dufferin Street to London Road via Exhibition Park

 

  1. Downtown Trail/Trans Canada Trail (4.3 km)
    • Starts at Heritage Park, ends at the Woodlawn Cemetery

 

  1. Laura Baily Memorial Trail (1.5 km)
    • Grange Road Park through Hadati Creek Wetlands

 

  1. Eramosa River Trail (4.1 km)
    • Covered Bridge to Stone Road via Victoria Road South

    • Access at Victoria Road North at Speed River

 

  1. Guelph Humane Society Trailhead (13 km)
    • Speed River Trail to the outskirts of Cambridge, access is adjacent to the parking area of the former Guelph Humane Society site off Wellington Road.

 

  1. Radial Line Trail Access (2.3 km)
    • From Stone Road East, turn south onto the roadway at the sign to the Barber Scout Camp and drive to the parking area.
