Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice! Guelph Fall Spots to Explore

Sep 25,2024 | Guelph Living

This time of year we trade swimsuits for sweaters and iced coffees for pumpkin spiced lattes. The leaves turn vibrant and we start thinking about delicious turkey dinner and Halloween costume ideas. It’s that perfect in between season where we still enjoy getting outside to enjoy the changing fall colours but also love getting cozy at home with our fall candles and homemade soup recipes.  The city of Guelph and surrounding area is the perfect place to find all of your fall favourites at the local markets, farms and artisan shops.  Here are a few of our favorites to check out:

  1. Guelph Farmers’ Market

Located in the heart of Downtown Guelph, it has been a community cornerstone since 1827. Find all of your locally grown fresh ingredients for your favourite recipes.  Enjoy samples as you peruse the local artisan booths. It is open every Saturday from 8am-1pm, year round. Don’t forget your reusable bag!

  1. The Scented Market

Look no further for your favourite fall candles than this locally owned and operated shop that specializes in self-care products that are vegan and eco-friendly. The shop has expanded to several locations across Southern Ontario with the original location being on Edinburgh Road South in Guelph. You can save time by shopping online but we recommend visiting a location in person so you can enjoy the full sensory experience!

  1. Strom’s Farm and Bakery

What better way to get into the spirit of fall than by planning a visit to the pumpkin patch.  It is a second generation farm located on Wellington Road 32. The varieties of pumpkins available are not only fun to pick but also make for a great backdrop for fun family photos. Take home some of their famous butter tarts or pies (the pastry is made from scratch!) and you’ll be the talk of the town at Thanksgiving dinner.

  1. Red Brick Cafe

This downtown Guelph cafe is located in a heritage building tucked away on the charming Douglas Street, so that it feels like you have stumbled across it somewhere in Europe. It has developed a reputation for showcasing high quality art and hosting local musicians and community events. Grab a pumpkin spiced latte to-go on your way for a downtown stroll or enjoy the cozy atmosphere inside.
