What to Know About House Hunting in Guelph
When shopping in Guelph for your home, first-time homebuyers can explore investment property options to make purchasing a home more affordable, by having an income helper in the home. By renting out a portion of the property, buyers can offset their mortgage payments and reduce their overall housing costs. Additionally, Guelph’s strong rental market and growing economy make it an attractive location for real estate investment. And when you are ready to move on from your starter home, you have a great option to keep it in your portfolio for even more investment income or sell to help purchase a larger family home. With increasing interest in sustainable living and a focus on work-life balance, Guelph may be an ideal place to find an affordable investment property that also aligns with personal values.
A City You’ll Never Want to Leave
Guelph is truly a city that first-time homebuyers won’t want to leave. With the thriving arts and culture scene and a strong sense of community, Guelph offers the perfect mix of urban amenities and small-town charm. Downtown Guelph is a vibrant community that has everything from a farmers market, OHL Hockey team, shopping, amazing restaurants, night life and so much more! Depending on the season you can immerse yourself into the culture of this beautiful city with music festivals, art shows, plays etc! It also boasts plenty of green space, including the beautiful Victoria Park and the expansive Riverside Park. Plus, its location in the heart of Ontario means that it’s a great jumping-off point for exploring other parts of the province. All in all, it’s easy to see why first-time homebuyers would quickly fall in love with Guelph and want to stay for the long haul.
I am a perfect example of someone who came from just east of Toronto and feel in love with all that Guelph had to offer. After University I knew it was the place for me and starting setting up roots. I call it the Guelph Bubble, because you really do not need to leave, you can get to both ends of the city in 20 mins, and see about 10 people you know in between (But really). Its your small town homey feel with enough culture, and opportunity to keep you from leaving.
